Tregaron lies 11 miles north of Lampeter, 19 miles south east of Aberystwyth, 38 miles north east of Carmarthen and 210 miles from London.
Tregaron is attractively situated in mid Ceredigion, 560 feet above sea level and has a population of around 1,500. There are 3 banks, a supermarket, 2 butchers, co-op, cattle mart, hospital and a primary and secondary school. The town serves a large hinterland of small villages, pasture and mountain heath; traffic noise and light pollution are minimal.
To the east of Tregaron, the Cambrian Mountains stretch for 20 miles - this is one of the least populated areas in Wales. To the north is the vast Cors Caron, a National Nature Reserve, and to the south is the beautiful Teifi Valley. Allow 5 hours from London by car, 3 hours from Bristol, 2 hours from Cardiff and 3 hours from Birmingham. It’s well worth the journey though!
